Gaga’s VMAs

September 17, 2010 at 8:48 pm (music, pop culture) (, , , , , , , , )

I thought Lady Gaga’s escorts were awesome.  It was ashame they were all discharged.  And Gaga looks awesome here. (And the whole time really).

Chelsea Handler’s Bad Romance came complete with a house on her head.

Gaga couldn’t even walk in this dress.

Meat dress!  I saw it and just started yelling meat, meat, she’s wearing meat!

It was truly Gaga’s night. 8 wins and a commercial inbetween with one of her songs.

Good Vids not nominated

September 15, 2010 at 7:51 pm (music, pop culture) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

The VMAs had good vids this year, but it doesn’t mean that those were the best out there. Those were the best out of the most popular vids. Sometimes most popular coincides with best as with Bad Romance, but that’s rare.

Here’s a few awesome vids from this year:

Broken Bells  The Ghost Inside   Christina Hendricks is in this vid,  that’s definitely a bonus.

Interpol Lights   Its hypnotic and actually rather deep so beware.

I like Nicki Minaj’s vid for Your Love, because of the Japanese theme and that she actually let herself get killed. I actually felt sorry for her. That something that never happens in music videos for me.  I also like Crossfire- Brandon Flowers, because there are ninjas and there’s role reversal.  He’s the one being saved instead of doing the saving.

What other videos would you add?

Glamourizing suicide? I don’t think so

September 18, 2009 at 4:10 pm (music) (, , , , , , )

Lady Gaga is now under fire by an anti suicide group for glamourizing suicide in her vma performance of paparazzi.  Unlike in the music video in which Gaga gets a way with murder, she’s the one to die.  Truthfully I thought she was “killed” in this performance and did not “commit suicide” but I could be wrong.

Her response to this was that the paparazzi killed her personal life and this was a representation of that which seems to suggest that Gaga did not see this as suicide.  Before this whole performance she said that the song was inspired by Princess Diana’s death.  I think the song and performance take on different meanings for her, like its evolving into something it wasn’t before, but I do not think that this performance was glamourizing suicide.  It was more that the paparazzi and I guess everyone  else glamourize death.

I find the performance shocking, insane, and intriguing. I admit I’ve watched it more than a few times.   What do you think about Lady Gaga’s performance?

Parodies

September 17, 2009 at 4:54 pm (music, Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

I’ve been watching parodies on youtube.  Maybe too many, but I find them funny.  So I’m going to share some with you.  Watching the parodies has shown me that some people just have really good equipment and some people are actually really funny.

I think ijustine’s she wolf parody and swine busters are really funny. She has really awesome green screen and for all her silliness she actually kind of funny.  And I swear I saw her at the vmas talking about vma and Kanye tweets, but I’m not sure.

The venetianprincess is really funny.  I like all of her stuff expecially her poker face parody.  She has the erie ability to look like many different people including Angelina Jolie, Lady Gaga, and Megan Fox.

There are a lot of Lady Gaga parodies. MF arts does a good Just Dance one with No pantsFierce factor  also parodies fear factor.  There are pokemon, cat, and loads of other parodies of her that I’m not even going to begin to list.
