Why I should have my own show pt 1

November 28, 2010 at 1:52 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

I know, I know everyone wants their own show. They think it’ll make them famous, but you probably already have to be famous to get your own show for the most part. I don’t want a show in order to be famous. Hell I don’t care if I’m actually in it.  I just believe that the things that happen to me are so weird and funny that my life should be a show. A reality show would be the last thing that would give it justice really, but my life could easily be a sitcom or a cartoon. A comic would work too.  Really it would be like one of those Nickelodeon or Disney shows like icarly, Even Stevens or something.

I said a few posts ago that my life’s  like the Apprentice, which it is, but when you combine that with The Fame hilarity ensues and that hilarity is y life. If you’ve been reading my posts you know I’m obsessed with Lady Gaga so when I say the Fame I say it with what her definition. Everyone can have the Fame whether you’re actually  famous or not.

So what happened this past week?

1. I was kidnapped

2. I had to basically run from people…I think people think I’m famous or something.  It keeps leading to really awkward situations which I’ll get to another time…I feel like I need a body-guard quite often…

3. A lady tried buying Dane Cook tix from me that I don’t have.  Not to mention Dane Cook was in Richmond several weeks ago…and I don’t even like Dane Cook.

4. Saw a Segway Tour. They always make me laugh.  It’s a shame the Segway creator drove off a cliff on a Segway…

5. I went back to the Martin Agency so I thought I was on Mad Men. I wasn’t doing any advertising while I was there though…but I did see the Geico Gecko.

Willy Wonka’s popping up

April 21, 2010 at 10:41 am (commercial, technology) (, , , , , , , , , , )

Willy Wonka’s been popping up in commercials recently.  The tunnel scene was used in a Lost commercial and the song Pure Imagination is used in an AT&T.  One is used for the creepiness, the other for the power of the imagination sparked in the original Willy Wonka. They were released around the same time.  Coincidence? And do you like the commercials?

Trying to beat the system

March 24, 2010 at 7:03 am (art, commercial, music) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

I seriously don’t know what to do to advertise anymore except to go all out freaking crazy, because everything always turns out to be a popularity contest or a “who’s crazier” type of thing. Popularity online is basically whose got the most connections, but it could also be that someone knows how to beat the system, because they know the system.  Unfortunately I’m like the jester who decided to take on a real job.  I don’t know what I’m doing and I’m just juggling different things different ways until I find what works.  Therefore I’m struggling like a fool on a fool’s errand in the pursuit of happiness.

I entered a commercial contest for q94 and I’m struggling to figure it all out.   Please vote at http://www.q94radio.com/pages/commercialvoting.html

See the Pursuit of happiness in a commercial. It might be sad that life’s come to that, but its best not to cry over spilled milk.

Tune into the Party!

March 22, 2010 at 9:33 am (art, commercial) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

This is a commercial I made for the Q94 Create the next commercial contest.  It took forever to make this commerical.  I had from the end of February, when I found out about the contest, to mid March to create a commercial on my own which I’ve never done before.  I took me a while to figure out what to do.  I have barely any experience doing any of this except the drawing part.  And I didn’t know if I could actually use hit music so I made my own and you can probably tell I’ve never done that before.

You can vote here for the winnerhttp://www.q94radio.com/pages/commercialvoting.html.  I’m contestant #5 but their not showing my vid right now.  Argg…The winner gets their commercial aired on TV in the Richmond area and may get the chance to meet a Q94 artist and see them make their next music video.  I know who I would pick if I won and if she was on the list, Lady Gaga.  Wouldn’t it be awesome to see her make her next video? Of course if I won, got there and fainted I don’t think I would be seeing much of anything.

Eminem how much TV do you watch?

April 8, 2009 at 3:13 am (music) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

Eminem’s got a new song out, We made you, and a video too.  It’s one of his songs that are hilarious because he’s making fun of everyone, but the quality of the song itself isn’t that good. Remember that one making fun of Michael Jackson not too long ago?  It’s the video that makes this song worth talking about.  There are parodies of  the Sarah Palin rap on Saturday Night Live (There’s a polar bear and an eskimo) and the Nailin’ Palin porn at the same time as he’s making fun of rock stars (he’s got a bret michaels look going on half the time).

And of course these aren’t nearly half of the parodies that he manages to squeeze in a song that isn’t but a few minutes in length. There’s Star Trek, Britney Spears, Lindsay and Sam. If its talked about often, he makes fun of it which makes me wonder what does he do with his time. Look at TMZ? Entertainment TV? Granted I know about this stuff too…, but it tends to leave my mind after a while.

So what do you think about this song and video?

Craziness of Japan on American TV

September 2, 2008 at 3:50 am (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , , , )

Lately the US has been showing more and more of Japanese TV and converting for Americans. This summer there was I survived a Japanese Game show which was very much like Big Brother, only in Japan and having less focus on personal drama.  Ninja Warrior and another show like were also popular during the summer .  The Japanese Game Show involved Americans competing on a fake Japanese game show in Japan.  Coming soon will be a show called Hole in the Wall in which contestants jump through boards with holes in it.  (Look Like Japanese TV to me).

Well New York goes to Hollywood had a Japan segment in which the viewer gets to see behind the scenes of Japanese tv and its not pretty. It was funny in a rather sad way. It was so wrong.  I couldn’t have dealt with that especially to people who didn’t deserve it. That woman didn’t deserve to be hit or that man choked.  The director was seriously out of control.  The video unfortuately shows an example of the superior having utter control over the people beneath him and no one wants to or can complain.  It’s a rather big problem in Japan although it does happen everywhere.

Let’s see how popular Japanizing American shows gets.  Japanese gameshow are always outrageous and fun to watch.  Hai Majide!
