Ukrops 10k Run

March 27, 2010 at 6:15 pm (art, Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

I was out in the crowds running this morning for the Ukrops monument 10k.  I didn’t really prepare like I should have, but I ran about 3miles and walked in between.  I think I did pretty good.

I was wearing a q94 shirt I made to advertise my commercial so as I ran by people yelled out Q94! I thought that was awesome.  I plan to run next year now in costume, this was my first time running at all.  All the costumes were awesome.  There were Ompa Lumpahs, totoyas, darts, Jedi, a little of everything. I might do something from  the SNL cowbell skit. There was a lot of cowbell out there.

Seeing that it was freezing I had to wear a whole bunches of shirts under the T-shirt.  I also wore shorts with pink tights, knee high socks and legwarmers.  Unfortunately I only took pics of my shirt…so here’s my shirt:

Too bad Q94 wasn’t out there to see it.  Every other Richmond station seemed to be out there. With 35,000 people running there were a lot of people out there.  If I was Q94 I would have been there. I think most people just thought I really love Q94, which I do, but I was mostly trying to advertise my commercial.  Btw you can vote for it at http://www.q94radio.com/pages/commercialvoting.html.  I’m contestant #5, please vote.

Monster Ball Tour

October 16, 2009 at 11:44 am (art, fashion, music) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

Lady Gaga Announces 'The Monster Ball'

I’ve been talking about Lady Gaga a lot recently, but hey she’s about to release the Fame Monster (sounds kind of scary huh?) and doing awesome things like starting the “first ever pop-electro opera,”  the Monster Ball.  She’s recently released the poster for her tour (without Kanye West).  She announce that her opening is  to be none other than Kid Cudi.  I guess she wanted a quirky rapper to go on tour with her or one of the rappers from the I make her say”I poke her face” song which also included Kanye and Common.  I do like Kid Cudi although I’m not a fan of this song.  I just think its stupid.  I like his song Day N Nite and how the vid includes The Wizard of Oz and Prince references and how half of the vid is a cartoon. What do you think of Kid Cudi going on  tour with Lady Gaga?

Do you like the Monster Ball poster?  I love it.   It looks really modelly (that’s not a word). She’s wearing the awesomeness she premiered on SNL.

Make sure you don’t confuse the name of the tour with the movie Monster’s Ball starring Halle Berry.  They have nothing in common except the name, as far as I know.

The tour sounds exciting.  I want to go.  What about you?

Madonna vs. Lady Gaga

October 5, 2009 at 12:46 pm (music) (, , , , , , , , , )

Have you watched any vids featuring pop divas like Madonna and Lady Gaga battling it out with words using what looks like a lego video game.  There’s a lot of them out there.  This is just one.   Be forewarned if you’re easily offended don’t watched that vid or the next link. They look like the one Richard Pryor SNL skit with Chevy Chase.  Unfortanately I couldn’t find the real vid but here’s a link.  Really funny.  Basically they insult each other when that wasn’t the intention for the characters to see each other.

Watching Madonna and Lady Gaga battle it out in real life is much funnier than the stiff video game figures.  Their SNL skit was hilarious.  I thought it was kind of scary though.  Madonna was looking extra skinny and muscular, but she would have beat the crap out of Lady Gaga.  I’m wondering if Madonna’s got some hidden anger somewhere.  Kinda looked like she was really going to beat Gaga up.  Gaga needs to be careful around Madonna.  And I thought Lady Gaga was scary with her Phantom of the Opera dress and monster fixation. She did do a monster thing @ 1:30 Looks like Madonna got where she is today for a reason (in addition to talent because sadly talent isn’t enough to find so much success. )

What do you think?

Mad Dog Love

October 4, 2009 at 9:26 pm (art, comics) (, , , , , , , )

dog loveSome people have mad dog love which I would necessarily disagree with if they aren’t being treated better than humans or taking their places.  Seriously dog spas (and I’ve never been to one.  I’m jealous of dogs!), frozen treats in the people section, doggie root beer, doggie tea shops…the list goes on.

I saw a show on TV like the super nanny but for dogs and on one epsiode a couple spoiled their dog to the point where their son complained that the dog was eating better and was treated better than him in general.   Then there are the dogs that inherit millions and millions of dollars (again I’m jealous of dogs).

And the sad thing is dogs don’t care as long as they aren’t hungry what they are eating.  An SNL skit from the other day featured a man giving his dog garbage in order to save money during the recession and of course the dog ate it.

I think that this mad dog love is part of what keeps the heat on Michael Vick.  Of course dog fighting is stupid, petty, and mean, but seriously there are football players and others who have done terrible things to people and haven’t gotten so much anger directed at them.

What do you think about mad dog love?

Don’t Fear the Reaper

June 19, 2008 at 10:12 pm (music) (, , , , , , )

I finally found out what more cowbell means. I’ve heard the joke more often than someone who doesn’t understand necessarily wants to hear.  I knew it was an SNL skit and that’s about it.  But then I heard Don’t fear the Reaper and looked it up and viola the SNL skit.  And the real song does sound like it has cowbells which makes it funnier.  The skit’s funny (Much funnier than the joke out of context which I fear I will do because it was really funny.

The song’s awesome and not about suicide as so many people think.  I never even thought about that until a read some comments and stuff.  I just assumed it was about eternal love even beyond death.  What do you think about the meaning of the song?
