Phone App Bubble?

Remember the .com bubble that burst after the 90s? Investors were just throwing their money at dotcom startups, but not all of them were good.  This created a bubble that eventually burst. Of course in the 90s it seems like everyone had money and then afterwards…not so much…

I’m hoping that doesn’t happen with phone apps. Everyone’s jumping on that band wagon like flies to sweat.  Every company’s getting their own app and then we’ve got ones like Instagram and Picpiz  that are turning into legit or at least semilegit businesses. Both of  these apps are edit photos and are bringing in the bucks from investors. I don’t mean to pick on photo apps but I’m not sure how profitable they are, especially if they’re free.

What do you think? Are we creating a phone app bubble that will eventually burst or are apps a new way of doing business?

What is Tasty Labs?

What is Tasty Labs? Tasty Labs sounds like a food tasting factory of sorts.  That would be kinda cool, but its supposed to be better than that, what ever it is.  They claim to be putting the useful back in social software.  You can look at this stealth but tasty sounding company’s  fledgling site which tells you what they are not and what they aim to be.  With more than one guy working on Tasty Labs and some $3 million dollars from Delicious, I’m wondering if these guys aren’t just hungry.
