Just Dance vs. Bedtime stories cover

April 29, 2009 at 9:00 pm (fashion, music) (, , , , , )

Recently I’ve probably been watching too many Madonna vids at the same time that I’ve been watching a lot of Lady Gaga’s stuff.  So I noticed a lot of similarities.  But hey what do you expect? I’m not going to list them all since there are so many, but here’s a fairly obvious one that I hadn’t known about.  I hadn’t really look at Madonn’s album covers before so I hadn’t known they were similar. So here you go

The Just Dance single pic is very similar to Madonna’s Bedtime stories cover.  Notice the frilly shirt,  positioning of the hands, and the hair.

Looks like Madonna had a large influence on Lady Gaga.  You should compare the vids, not just these pics.  Well Madonna definitely made it big, so its good to get some tips from her.

AOL’s leaving the Lady for Boots?

April 28, 2009 at 5:02 pm (music) (, , , , , , , )

For the past few months it seem like AOL’s Aim Zone would talk about Lady Gaga almost every day.  But today they wrote

Have You Heard
Of Little Boots?

Move Over Lady Gaga, There’s a New
Bombshell on the Scene: Meet Her

Does this mean AOL’s going to leave Lady Gaga for Little Boots?  Hmm…One electro-pop female for another?  Well both can play piano/keyboard well.  Both are good singers, although I think Lady Gaga is better.  And Lady Gaga seems to have more of a range in the types of music she can do.  What do you think?

Witch Hunter Robin Takes a Bow

April 28, 2009 at 5:05 am (anime, music) (, , , , , )

I’ve noticed that a lot of people wonder what Robin from Witch Hunter Robin is doing with the TV in the series opening.  I kind of wondered myself, but I guess she’s reminicing  just like Madonna in the music video Take a Bow, and trying to touch someone who’s not there.  There’s always a hint of something else when it comes to Madonna.  But they both see that man that they like (at least implied in the video/anime). Looks kind of similar doesn’t it?

No you girls

April 27, 2009 at 11:47 pm (fashion, music) (, , , , , , )

When I watched the video for Franz Ferdinand’s No you girls, which was featured in an Ipod commercial, I couldn’t help thinking that all the girls were wearing something that Lady Gaga would wear.  I mean they’re wearing no pants and fancy hats.  Also, their carrying video cameras is like the time she took pictures of the paparazzi coming out of a club.

I love Franz Ferdinand.  They do the weird but artsy thing well like in their other video, Do you want to, and their music is good.

Ipodmercial

April 23, 2009 at 5:27 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , , , )

The Ipod / mp3 format is taking over commercials and music videos with the appearance of touch screens.  The Black Eyed Pea’s futuristic vido for Boom Boom Pow has it.  So does this Zune commercial with Common which is music downloading site.  Problem with most of the commercials with this format is the lack of a face for the person talking.  Like how about this Hp commercial with Fergie or this one with Pharrell. There are also the Ipod touch commercials.  No faces.  :-(

Like seriously.  Where is Serena’s face?

What do you think about these commercials?

Women to Bratz and aliens

April 21, 2009 at 5:21 pm (rant) (, , , , , , , )

Women need to make sure they eat.  Well everyone need to eat, but some women are so busy trying to be skinny that they don’t eat. Because they aren’t eating their appearance changes.  Their head appears bigger in comparison to the bodies and because the face is kind of emaciated too the eyes look bigger.  This makes them look like bratz dolls or aliens.  Seriously.

Look at this pic of Lindsay Lohan not that she’s the only one.  It’s unfortunate but the look is getting more common.

This is really scary looking too

see how the alien has a skinny body, big head and eyes?

The Bratz’s heads are large in proportion to their bodies as well. It’s kind of like the anime characters big heads and eyes.  This look scares me.  I would much rather see normal looking women.  Lindsay usually looks much better than the pic shown.

What do you think about this?

Gaga Fashion

April 19, 2009 at 4:01 am (fashion, music) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

I’m sure everyone knows Lady Gaga’s got fashion whether you like it or not.  Liked that zipper eye she wore on American idol?  I like her fearless style.  Aristist have been known to wear outrageous things.  Sometimes its a hit and others its a miss.  It takes someone fearless to truly find hits.

One thing that I’ve learned from her fashion is who her inspiration is and I think they are awesome.  I’ve been learning a lot about fashion from Lady Gaga.  Funny considering she has a song called fashion where she lists off some of the top designers.  I was kind of clueless before to tell you the truth…I didn’t know what Manolos where besides that they were designer shoes.

There’s Margiela

Like the shoulder pads?

Then there’s Chaylan Have you seen the bubble dress?

Some people have rightly commented that Lady Gaga’s haus created an almost exact replica of the Chaylan dress instead of buying one.  The thing I have to disagree about with this post is that Chaylan did not miss out on publicity.  I found out about it because Lady Gaga’s always saying his name and since I liked the bubble dress I found out who’s idea it was.  And it was a good thing she never claimed it was her idea, or else that really would have been stealing.

The list goes on and on really for designers that I either found out because of her or found out more about them. I’m sure you don’t want an entire list of them.  It would really get ridiculous.  But by learning about designers I’ve found the ones that I like.  I’m sure that will be others that I like, but at least know I can say I have favorites.

And has anyone else noticed that Lady Gaga’s style has been progressing? At first it consisted of catsuits, shoulder pads, head scarves, and no pants stuff with fairly plain designs.  Now she has the zipper eye-star outfit, the prism dress, the black and white lightning dress, the bubble dress, the chrome dress, and who knows what else.

Gaga’s ever changing hair

April 16, 2009 at 7:55 pm (fashion) (, , , , , )

Lady Gaga seems to change her hair faster than most people can change clothes.  One minute its long, the next its short.  Its blonde then its purple.  Its down then its in a braided hairdo reminescent of the coneheads.  She seriously boards a plane with short hair and comes off with long.

Lady GagaLady GaGa

How and why is this accomplished?  I don’t know and I don’t specifically care, because I know it serves at least one really important purpose.  In the internet age of rapid information we have short attention spans (talking about myself, but I know a lot you feel the same way) and the more she is able to change, as long as it stays different and cool, the longer we’ll be interested.

Apparently all this was within a couple of days.  Crazy isn’t it?

Twitter’s got power over you

April 14, 2009 at 8:17 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , , )

According to an article Twitter is part of a move toward news that is too fast for people to process correctly.  Which means we’re not going to show the correct emotional response to things.  Also, it could make us have all seem like we have ADD with really short attention spans.  Could end up like John Mayer and get sucked into Twitter.  Heard he spends like 5 hrs a day on Twitter and that was a reason for Jennifer Aniston breaking up with him.

Personally, I haven’t spent too much time on Twitter.  Facebook’s more of my thing and blogging too.  I don’t think people want to know every single part of my day.  Would you be interested in knowing what type of drink I have and when I drink it? The amazing thing is that it seems like senators and the like, basically people you wouldn’t think would Twitter, are the ones that think you would be interested in their drink choice.

Some people do Twitter relevent information.  I mean there was a Twitter revolution in Moldova earlier this month.  I hadn’t even known that many people had computers there, not to mention Twitterers. Moldova is a small country that was part of the Soviet Union.  Because the Communist part won the election, the young people, the Twitterers, twittered and formed a revolution.  The government hadn’t expected the number of protesters that came out or the chaos that ensued. So the revolution was called the Twitter Revolution.

Does Twitter have power over you or have you remained Twitter free?

That was so wrong Jamie

April 14, 2009 at 3:30 am (rant) (, , , )

Jamie Foxx said some horrible things about Miley Cyrus.  I suppose it was in response to her saying she would destroy Radiohead for ignoring her.  But that doesn’t give a grown man the right to say such things about her.  Those comments were just downright mean.   I’m not a Miley Cyrus fan, but I can say that adults should not say things like that about kids.  The girl isn’t even 18 and he’s talking about her like that… eww…Jamie you upset me.  You sounded just like a kid, but you’re not.  Atleast when Miley says or does stupid things and acts childish, its understandable, because she’s not grown, and sometimes kids do stuff like that.  When adults do and say things like that it comes off as beyond stupid.  You should know better.
